Terms, Privacy & Disclaimer

Last updated: 2026-07-28 · Plain-English. By using RepoHunter (this website and the open-source tool) you agree to what's below.

The short version: RepoHunter is a free, informational tool. Its scores, verdicts, and savings estimates are illustrative guidance, not guarantees or advice — always verify before you adopt anything. We don't collect personal data and don't store your inputs.

1 · What RepoHunter is

RepoHunter helps you evaluate open-source repositories for reuse — scores, a resource-fit estimate, a GO/MAYBE/SKIP verdict, and (in the tool) an integration plan. It is provided free, "as is," and is for informational purposes only.

2 · No warranties

RepoHunter is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that any output is accurate, complete, current, secure, or error-free.

3 · Not advice — verify before you adopt

Scores, verdicts, resource-fit, and any safety or savings signals are automated, illustrative guidance — not professional, legal, financial, or security advice, and not a guarantee. You are solely responsible for evaluating, testing, licensing, and securing any code you choose to adopt. Independently verify anything before you integrate it, especially for security and license compliance.

4 · Savings & other estimates

Any "potential savings," time, token, cost, or environmental figures are rough, directional illustrations only. They are not predictions, promises, or measurements of your actual results, and should not be relied upon for any decision. Your mileage will vary.

5 · Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RepoHunter and its authors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the tool, the site, or any repository you evaluate or adopt — including decisions made in reliance on its output.

6 · Third-party repositories & trademarks

RepoHunter evaluates repositories it does not own or control and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by their authors. All repository names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Adopting any repository is subject to that project's own license, which you are responsible for honoring.

7 · Privacy — what we don't collect

8 · Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site or tool — no attempts to overload, scrape abusively, reverse the intent of the rate limits, or use it for unlawful purposes.

9 · Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date will change. Continued use means you accept the current version.

10 · Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the owner's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions or issues: open one on the GitHub repository.
